WMBF News reports that MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A Mexico-based drug trafficking operation that pumped fentanyl and heroin into Myrtle Beach has been dismantled, and four men are heading to federal prison.
A judge sentenced Federico Parra Lopez, 32, to 130 months, nearly 11 years, in federal prison for conspiring to distribute fentanyl and heroin, and Marcos Flores Aquino, 25, to 46 months, nearly four years, in prison, according to a Wednesday news release from the U.S.
Attorney’s Office for the District of South Carolina.
Parra Lopez’s sentence includes a five-year sentence for possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.
Evidence at the sentencing shows Parra Lopez and Flores Aquino, along with codefendants Miguel Angulo Perez, 22, and Omar Sanchez Aquino, 33, were part of a drug trafficking organization.
The organization originated in Mexico and operated in Myrtle Beach during 2023 and 2024.
