2 charged after Scotland County stabbing leaves 1 in critical condition

WMBF News reports that SCOTLAND COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - Two Scotland County women are behind bars after a stabbing left a victim fighting for their life Tuesday.

Deputies initially responded to Price Street, but investigators determined the stabbing actually occurred on Old Track Road near the South Carolina state line.

A medical helicopter airlifted the victim to a hospital in critical condition.

Investigators quickly identified two suspects.

Deputies charged Lagenia Everell, 32, and Branisa McEachin, 30, with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.

Everell was taken into custody on Old Track Road.
