WMBF News reports that (WCSC) — The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office announced that two people were arrested in connection with a motel shooting that left one man dead Saturday morning.
Arron Ryant, 35, of Cordova, is charged with murder, burglary, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person convicted of certain crimes.
Demetresse Jenkins, 35, of Orangeburg, is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
The arrest warrant alleged that Ryant approached the Crown Inn occupied by Jason Johnson and Jenkins and attempted to enter.
After they refused to open the door, he used a gun to break a window and entered the room.
Ryant and Jenkins exchanged gunfire, killing 43-year-old Johnson.
