Yahoo Sports reports that Lineal light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol ends his hiatus from the ring on May 30, defending his unified titles against the IBF's No.

1-ranked contender Michael Eifert in a headlining bout from Ekaterinburg, Russia.

Bivol was forced to sit out after scoring a career-best win over Artur Beterbiev last February because a lingering back injury required surgery and kept him out of the ring for 15 months.

Eifert has long sat atop the IBF's rankings, due a mandatory shot at Bivol's title per the sanctioning body's rules, and finally received his call with Bivol in need of a tune-up as he returns from his longest layoff since COVID-19.

With a win, Bivol could turn toward a rubber match against Beterbiev, or yet another undisputed showdown against the WBC light heavyweight champion David Benavidez.
