WYFF 4 reports that In a one-on-one interview with WYFF News 4, Republican candidate for South Carolina governor and State Sen.

Josh Kimbrell said he's running to bring about a more effective relationship between the governor's office and the legislature.

It's a relationship he argues is necessary in a state where lawmakers hold much of the power."If you're going to see real change and actually be able to pass meaningful reforms, you've got to have a governor that knows the relationship between the legislature and how you've got to kind of lead by example and work collaboratively," Kimbrell said.Kimbrell, who represents District 11 in Spartanburg County, pointed to his legislative record as a key distinction in the crowded Republican primary field."Knowing how to...

And I think that does set me apart, that I've been able to legislate," he said.Kimbrell said he would push to phase out the tax by closing "sales tax loopholes" and also pointed to his role in broader tax cut efforts in the South Carolina State House."I have actual experience in passing tax cuts, and as governor, I'd like to pursue what I tried to do in 2022 and just go to zero.

I think that makes us very competitive with every state around us," he said.

Kimbrell also made infrastructure a major focus of the interview, arguing South Carolina's road issues are about more than funding.Keep up with what's happening around our area by downloading the WYFF News 4 app on the App Store or Google Play."We have plenty of money.
