Springdale honors late Mayor Pat Smith with memorial road sign

WIS News 10 reports that (WIS) - A new sign in Springdale now carries the name of a man many in the town knew simply as “Mayor Pat.” Family, town leaders, and community members gathered Friday along Platt Springs Road for the unveiling of the “Mayor Pat G.

The roadway honors Pat Smith, who served as Springdale’s mayor for nearly 30 years.

“He had a passion and a heart,” said Rosalie Smith, Pat Smith’s wife.

“And everything he did was Springdale.

Everywhere we went, it was about Springdale, building the town, planning the town.” Springdale Police Chief Andrew Richbourg said Smith’s work was never about personal credit.

Pat never sought recognition,” Richbourg said.
