Yahoo Sports reports that Liverpool apparently ended their contract talks with Ibrahima Konate for a ridiculous reason.

The centre-back’s contract ends this summer and there’s no new deal, meaning he leaves the club on a free transfer.
Konate himself talked about feeling he was close to a new deal with Liverpool towards the end of the season.
Instead, nothing has developed and talks are now finished.
Well, The Times says that the club ultimately decided against giving Konate what he wanted as they felt the money must be saved for elsewhere.
