WYFF 4 reports that A new pro soccer stadium near the growing Bridgeway Station in Mauldin is expected to bring in hundreds of thousands of fans and visitors.The scoreboard and turf are set as crews place the finishing touches on GE Vernova Park.
The $27.5 million stadium investment will open its doors for the Greenville Pro Soccer season kickoff on June 3 after months of construction and years of planning.More than 6,000 seats will be filled with shades of green, blue and white, as fans crowd the stadium, cheering and shouting the team's battle cry: "Together we Triumph." Greenville Triumph and Liberty SC's Zach Prince anticipates 500,000 visitors to the area in Quarter 1.
"We're celebrating the hard work of a lot of people.
This is something that's been in the vision of this club for a really long time," Prince said.The stadium, located just off the Bridges Road exit on I-385, is expected to load up some heavy traffic for game day commuters and through-traffic.
The City of Mauldin, its police agencies and leaders with the pro soccer team have collaborated to make more than 2,000 parking spaces available, both on and off-site.The following lots will be open for parking within walking distance to the stadium:Holland Park ChurchGreen LotFive Forks Methodist ChurchMauldin High School Jackson Marketing (for supporters)Parking will become paid starting at 4 p.m.
